- **Event Description**: In November, the Auckland Aquarium Association will not have its regular meeting but will instead go on a road trip on Saturday, 8 November. We’ll be visiting David Willcox’s Goldfish Farm in Warkworth.

We’ll meet at 12 noon at our regular meeting place, the Lake House Arts Centre, 37 Fred Thomas Drive, Takapuna. We’ll carpool — some members will have space in their cars for others. For example, Barry has kindly offered seats in his 7-seater. If you need a ride, please post in the group, message me, or email info@aquarium.nz.  Of course, you’re also welcome to meet us directly at the farm if that’s easier. The address is 122 Perry Road, Warkworth.

We’ll have a picnic lunch at the farm, so please bring a sandwich or whatever you’d like to eat. The AAA will provide some drinks – beer and soft drinks. You might want to bring some water to drink while we are walking around in case it's a hot day.

The ground can be muddy and gum boots are recommended!

There will also be a fishing competition for the kids, and possibly for some “big kids” too! Participants will catch grass carp using barbless hooks. Please bring your own fishing rod! If your kids don't have one, David has a few spare rods that they can use. Bait will be fresh white bread.

The schedule looks roughly like this:

12pm: Meet in Takapuna
1pm: Arrive at farm, have lunch and talk about fish
2pm: Tour of the farm
3pm: End of the farm tour. People are free to leave or stay for fishing 
5pm: End of fishing and return home
