This steady-paced walk is a great way to relax while discovering a little about nature in the city. Welford Road Cemetery has some uneven paths and steep slopes, please wear appropriate footwear. Public toilets available in Victoria Park. Please allow time to make your way to the start of the walk. We regret that dogs are not permitted on our wildlife walks.Information about the pace of our walks, what to wear/bring, the weather and much more can be found on our City Council Group Walks page.BookingThis walk is free to attend but please book as places are limited. Book via Eventbrite or alternatively call our Group Walks information line 0116 454 2860 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, excludes bank holidays). If you can no longer attend, please get in touch to cancel your place so we can open the opportunity to others.TravelBuses serve London Road, near Victoria Park. You will receive an email in the days leading up to the event with information about how to complete the form. You only need to do this once and can attend any of our walks thereafter (subject to booking a place on Eventbrite).Dress for the weatherRemember to dress appropriately for the weather. Our group walks will go ahead in most weather. We recommend the following:• Comfortable sturdy footwear• Bring a raincoat or umbrella in case of rain• On cooler days wear appropriate layers and a coat/jacket• On hot days we recommend a hat and sunscreen• Please bring a bottle of water with you.Group sizeWe ask walkers to book in advance so we can keep our group sizes manageable.Self-guided routesIf you have been unable to book onto one of our group walks, or you prefer to explore with your family or friends, self-guided routes are available to download from the routes page of our Choose How You Move website or via the Go Jauntly smartphone app. For other ideas, do check out our Walk Inspiration page which features walk videos and quiz trails.
