World-renowned independent video label, distributor and restoration house Vinegar Syndrome has thrilled fringe film fans for a decade with their rescue, restoration, and resuscitation of both deep-dish cinematic slices of psychotronica and neglected studio releases from the 1960s-1990s, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the Mahoning lot to vend from their vast library of DVDs, Blu-rays and 4K UHDs, and present a 35mm double feature that harkens back to the glory days of the Drive-In, circa 1973!

We cracked the Vinegar Syndrome vault and two tawdry titles escaped to The Mahoning Drive-In projection booth….

First! Meet the deadliest women who ever stalked the earth, the WONDER WOMEN (1973)! When a macho insurance investigator heads to Manilla to look into the disappearance of a jai-alai superstar, he uncovers a nefarious plot by a female mad scientist, protected on her private island by a beautiful bevy of kung-fu killers! 

With Ross Hagen, Nancy Kwan, Sid Haig, Marilyn Joi, Mara De Aragon, Roberta Collins, and Vic Diaz! Directed by Robert Vincent O’Neil (ANGEL)!

Then! Nothing can prepare you for the Spanish western splatter-fest that is CUT-THROATS NINE (1972)! It’s a nightmare on the loose when a cavalry sergeant and his daughter are forced to escort a group of murderous convicts to prison through torturous terrain, with murderous bandits hot on their snow-covered heels!  

With Robert Hundar, Emma Cohen, and Alberto Dalbes as “Dandy Tom”! Directed by Joaquin Luis Romero Marchent, in Blood Color!

Launched in 2012 by Ryan Emerson and Joe Rubin, Vinegar Syndrome has been preserving and releasing genre classics and lost gems, from regional horror to Hong Kong action, studio deep cuts to adult features, bringing new life to both neglected and beloved titles on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K.  

Their Archive stores around the US have become regional meccas for physical media fans, and their growth from niche DVD label to physical media powerhouse has been one of the most impressive stories in home video in recent decades.  

The Mahoning Drive-In Theater is thrilled to partner with Vinegar Syndrome to present the Vinegar Syndrome Showdown, bringing rarely-screened 35mm genre titles back to their natural habitat, the Drive-In!

Gates open at 6pm, Showtime at Sundown.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for children 13 and under.
