It’s time to spill the tanna leaf tea on a classic Universal monster that has been revived to shamble the earth numerous times, presented here in his most iconic incarnations!

First up is the one that started it all, Universal’s original 1932 slow-burn shocker starring Boris Karloff as the titular terror, Imhotep, awakened from his subterranean slumber by plundering explorers, and slowly stalks the reincarnation of his lost love! See the film that spawned four sequels and countless remakes and revivals! With Zita Johann, Edward Van Sloan, and David Manners, directed by cinematographer extraordinaire Karl Freund.

Once you’ve settled your nerves and poured the sand out of your shoes, it’s time to go back to the desert with adventurers Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz and John Hannah for Universal’s big-budget action/adventure/comedy remake, THE MUMMY (1999)! Fraser packs a punch as Rick O’Connell, battling all manner of supernatural specters as Arnold Vosloo’s Imhotep unleashes sandy vengeance in search of his lost love. A mega-hit in its day, spawning two sequels, a spin-off series, a cartoon, and more. Directed by Stephen Sommers.
