Join the Friends of Beltzville and Beltzville State Park staff on Friday, January 1, 2027, for our annual First Day Hike!

🐾 Special Thanks to Our Four-Legged Friends!
We are incredibly grateful to the American Academy of Canine Water Rescue and their amazing canine volunteers for the important work they do at Beltzville. Throughout the summer, these dedicated dogs and their handlers volunteer weekends to help lifeguard the beach, providing an extra layer of support and safety for park visitors.

We’re thrilled to welcome them back once again as our First Day Hike leaders! 🐕🥾

Their enthusiasm, dedication, and love for the park make this annual hike even more special. We’re so grateful to have them with us as we start another year at Beltzville!

🌊 A Once-a-Year Opportunity
With special permission, this annual hike takes us to the Beltzville Dam Tower, an area not typically included in public hikes. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the incredible views from the dam breast overlooking Beltzville Lake.

The hike is approximately 3½–4 miles and includes gravel, grass, dirt, and changing terrain.

🎒 Come Prepared
Bring plenty of water and dress appropriately for winter conditions. Sturdy hiking boots, warm layers, a jacket, and weather-appropriate clothing are strongly recommended.

🍭 Candy Cane Hunt for Children
Before the First Day Hike, children can participate in our Third Annual Candy Cane Hunt.

🕧 Sign-In: 12:30 PM
🍬 Hunt Begins: 1:00 PM

🔥 Campfire & Hot Chocolate
Warm up around the campfire near the amphitheater and visit the EIC for hot chocolate and cookies, while supplies last. ☕🍪🔥

🥫 First Day Food Drive
Help us start the year by giving back! Bring a canned good or non-perishable food item to support a local food pantry. Every donation helps.

📍 Parking: EIC parking is limited. Additional parking is available in Lot B and Lot C near the beach.

Start 2027 with us—explore a special part of Beltzville, enjoy incredible views, meet wonderful people, and follow our four-legged hike leaders into the new year! 🌿🐾🌊🥾
