This meaningful event honors her beautiful legacy and passion for karate by bringing together all ages, all ranks, all karate styles, and all martial artists, including athletes with disabilities, for a day of competition, sportsmanship, and unity. The tournament includes kata, kumite, kobudo/weapons, family kata, and para-karate divisions, making it a welcoming and inspiring event for the whole martial arts community.The day before the tournament, Kancho Masaya Kohama, World President of the International Shotokan Shobukan Karate Association of Japan, will lead world-class kata (forms) and kumite (sparring) seminars. This is a truly rare and special opportunity for Utah and for the entire United States to train directly with a legendary karate master from Japan. Together, these events create an unforgettable weekend of learning, competition, friendship, and tribute.
