Come join the Lakeland community for food, fellowship and worship at our Messianic Seder meal. Our Messianic Seder meal is in the tradition of the Jewish Seder meal that Jews all over the world partake of as part of the Passover celebration and is for adults and children of all ages.
The word “Seder” in Hebrew means “order.” In Jewish tradition, this Seder, or Passover, meal has a specific order in which food is eaten, prayers are recited, and songs are sung. It is celebrated every year in keeping with the command that God gave to the Israelites prior to their liberation (Exodus 12:14).
Lakeland’s Messianic Seder retains many of the features of a traditional Jewish Seder but also connects them to their fulfillment in Christ. With this event taking place during Holy Week, it also reminds that when Jesus gathered his disciples together for what is commonly known as the “Lord’s Supper”, it was in celebration of this Passover meal (Mark 14:2).
Additionally, proceeds from this event will go to support Lees Summit Social Services.
Please RSVP by March 29th. Please also indicate if you would be willing to help with cooking, setup, or teardown.
Cost will be $25 for adults and $15 for children.
