- **Event Name**: The Wilsons
- **Event Start and End Date**: Mon, 08 Dec, 2025 at 08:00 pm – Mon, 08 Dec, 2025 at 11:00 pm
- **Event Description**: We are delighted to welcome once more to the Grove folk club the mighty Teesside a cappella singers The Wilsons.
The Wilson Family from Billingham on Teesside have been singing and performing a cappella folk songs since 1974. It’s no exaggeration to say that they are the accepted benchmark for powerhouse unaccompanied singing. They were awarded the Gold Badge of the English Folk Dance & Song Society (EFDSS) in 2017, the highest honour the society can bestow. The core members of the present day group are Tom, Chris and Steve and Mike.
Following a highly acclaimed performance at The Royal Albert Hall BBC Proms, The Wilson Family collaborated with Sting on his album “The Last Ship” and the brothers performed with Sting in a series of celebrated sell out shows in New York.
They are seriously unmissable and their performances cannot fail to impress.
You are in for an uplifting, dynamic evening of delight, you’ll talk about for some time!
In 2024 they marked 50 years of singing with the release of their album Sibling Revivalry, with 14 songs never previously recorded by The Wilson Family.

"There`s a musical honesty about them that links past and present together. But what appeals to me about them, apart from their musical skill, is their honesty. They are what they are and do what they do and say what they say and it's very direct and I love that.”
- Dick Gaughan
