Strategy, Projects, Governance - making it flow

Organisations can struggle to implement their strategies: there can be widening gaps and disconnects between strategy and managing the projects to deliver this – information, communication, progress. Management attention splits between ‘business-as-usual’ operations and the key change projects – priorities get muddled, motivation falters, changes happen.

This is a participative event to discuss these challenges and share experiences, and to explore how to keep strategy and its implementation flowing in organisations.

Who is this for?

Anyone involved in managing and implementing strategy and projects in their organisations, including governance and information (at whatever level) – your experiences and challenges are what will inform the discussion, whether your role is strategy, portfolio management, projects, information, governance, or any combination of these.

Why have we organised this event?

There can be a lot of concern and frustration within organisations at the challenges of connecting strategy, projects and governance effectively: issues of communication, information, priorities and adapting to changes.

In an event in Leeds last summer, 'Strategy into Projects' organised by the Association for Project Management Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire Network and the International Association for Strategy Professionals UK, the discussion touched on some of these issues, and the extent and scale of the concerns was apparent.

In this event we will explore these challenges from the perspectives and experiences of those attending, and discuss how organisations might address these and develop a more integrated approach to help strategy delivery flow more effectively.

It will be a participative, open discussion (there are no presentations!), with refreshments including a light buffet.

What is the cost?
This is not a profit-making or 'selling' event, and the aim is to facilitate open discussion with a range of participants who are interested in addressing these challenges in their organisations.

However, we do need to try to cover the costs of hiring the facility (Horizon Leeds is an excellent venue, and the Inspire@ room is ideal!) and providing refreshments, hence the small charge of £25 (including VAT).
