Just 2 miles from Leeds City Centre, is a former industrial site that has been transformed into a haven for wildlife and people, boasting numerous habitats including woodland, ponds and meadows.Our popular open day will include a range of activities across the beautiful site, such as:🎨 Take part in craft workshops led by local artists🌳 Enjoy woodland play and outdoor games across the site🤹‍♂️ Learn some new skills at our workshop with Circus Leeds📖 Get comfy and enjoy a story told by storyteller Matthew Bellwood🏰 Explore local history with artist Jon Eland🍕 Enjoy a range of beverages, homemade cakes and wood-fired pizza!The event is free but donations are much appreciated. Suggested donation is just £1 for adults and kids run free. Any donations and profits from the cafe will go towards TCV's work at Skelton Grange to help us provide more opportunities for young people and for volunteers. If you want to find out more about this work - please chat to a member of the TCV team on the day.------------------------Please be aware that there is currently a security cabin and gate partway along Skelton Grange Road. This is for the construction site next door to the Environment Centre, and work upgrading the road.If you travel by car may note the vehicle registration, ask for the driver’s name and where you are going (tell them TCV). It is simply to keep track of traffic entering and leaving. If you are walking down you can go straight past.
