Yorkshire's Celtic bard Olivia Graham invites you to join her for a peaceful hour of ancient hymns, chants and traditional tunes drawn from the Celtic corners of these Isles. Experience Advent and Christmas through the eyes of pioneering Irish monks, Anglo-Saxon bards, exiled kings and Northumbrian saints. Step out of time as the ancient languages of Britain and Ireland are heard over powerful drones and traditional instruments.Important information:The performance is approx. 1 hour long. There is no interval.Doors open 30 mins prior to start of performance.Venue:The church is extremely old and in the care of Churches Conservation Trust. Please take care must when moving about inside the church. Please take care moving through the churchyard in the event of wet weather.Although the building is wheelchair accessible, the performance is taking place in a small elevated chapel that cannot be accessed with a wheelchair. There is one restricted-view space available for a wheelchair user and carer, which is subject to availability. Please contact the church in advance regarding any access requirements you may have.There is a level access entrance to the churchyard to the rear of the building.It is therefore advised to dress as warmly as possible. You are welcome to bring your own blankets.Please note there are no public toilets in the venue. The closest facilities are located at the Parkside Tavern close by.Aside from one restricted-view wheelchair space, there is no allocated seating.Dislcaimer: Latecomers may not be admitted once the show has started.
