The amazing basement sixties and seventies soul party that is Moveonup first started attracting clubbers of Leeds to their weekly residency in 1995. With its blend of Tamla Motown, Northern Soul, sixties beat & smatterings of raw funk and disco, it became one of the UK’s longest running weekly clubnights. Expect to hear the sounds of Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, The Supremes, Shirley Ellis, Marvin Gaye, Jackie Wilson, Etta James, Voices Of East Harlem, Eloise Laws, Edwin Starr, alongside the rarer soul sounds from the Northern scene.
