We are so excited to be bringing Josey Rebelle to Wire in Leeds with the utterly impeccable selector that is Leif. With Hope Works resident Lo Shea and On Rotation/Tribe Record's Alex T in support we think that we have a serious night of high quality moods and grooves for you.
Coupled with the skills to seamlessly join the dots between house, techno, boogie and more, it’s a formula that has seen Josey Rebelle gain a solid reputation both in her native London and across the world.
As well as DJing at clubs and festivals across the UK and internationally, Josey is a regular at some of the UK’s most respected nights – including Boiler Room (having played at the very first official broadcast back in 2010), Nonsense and Deviation. She has graced the line ups of clubs such as London's legendary Plastic People (where she held down various residencies), Fabric, Panorama Bar, Concrete, De School and Nitsa, is a regular at festivals including Dimensions and Outlook, and has recorded mixes for Resident Advisor, Fact and BBC Radio 1.
While her club sets centre around house, techno and disco sounds old and new, Josey demonstrates the full spectrum of her musical knowledge on her shows every Sunday on Rinse FM, one of the UK’s leading underground radio stations which she has been on since 2011.
Resident at Freerotation and owner of the label Until My Heart Stops.
He's one of a kind and simply wonderful. Its ner ever boring listening to Leif.
Manchester-born Alex Theodossiadis has been working hard promoting and DJing in the cities of York and Leeds for the last few years. After moving there for uni, Alex made an impression on York’s nightlife running a number of successful parties that brought guests like Hunee and Carl Craig from a world stage to the city’s burgeoning scene. He recently moved to Leeds where he had already been earning his stripes with the hotly tipped On Rotation parties. With the aim to showcase collectives and more niche DJs from across the UK and Europe, they have hosted local residents from the likes of Eastern Bloc Records, alongside larger bookings such as Steevio, Laurine and Lena Willikens. He can also be found behind the counter at the Leeds institution – Tribe Records, where he pushes a range of sounds from electro and acid house to world music and jazz alongside Dimensions Festival founder Simon Scott and Cosmic Slop’s Mike Greenwell. When you throw in a show on NTS Radio and regular contributions writing for Stamp The Wax, Alex delivers the goods one way or another.
