BEAUTY AND BALANCE
Wednesday 18th January: 10am - 5pm
Thursday 19th January: 10am - 5pm and 6pm to 8pm
Is there beauty in a dismantled car? The central piece of this exhibition is a metal sculpture 3.5m long,1.25m high and 0.9m wide. The Ka stands at its natural point of balance, except it is only one half. The artist stripped down a Ford Ka and cut the bodyshell along its length.
Sharp raw edge, sliced with a 9inch angle grinder. It’s a sculpture with a story to tell.
Lois Bentley is a sculptor, installation artist and wordsmith. Having studied at Leeds College of Art, she took part in a group exhibition at Arts@Trinity as part of the Heritage Open Days last year. This is her first solo exhibition.
Through working with chunks of metal in her cold, mucky, studio garage, Lois is beginning to find her voice.
