As dusk falls over the water and woodland, bats emerge to hunt. Join our helpful guides for a nighttime walk through this hidden urban gem in search of these illusive creatures.You'll learn about Britain's amazing bat species, get hands-on with a bat detector, and discover how we can identify different species through sound alone. No experience needed - just curiosity and a sense of adventure.Embrace your wild side - what to expect:Accessibility and terrainThe path to Marsh Hide is suitable for standard wheelchairs and pushchairs, while the rest of the route is more uneven with narrow passage ways which become inaccessible for some users. Boggy areas frequent so keep to path.People using wheelchairs, powerchairs and mobility equipment can find more information about this reserve here thanks to Accessible Nature.Please let us know at checkout if you have any access requirements that you would like to make us aware of and/or require any additional support to fully participate in this event. We aim to accomodate wherever possible.What to bring/wearThis event will take place outside so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather! Sturdy footwear is recommended and plenty of layers.Toilets and cateringThere are no toilet or catering facilities on this reserve. You may wish to bring a snack and flask of hot drinks but please take your litter home with you.Joining us on the dayThe meeting location will now be outside the main doors to the hotel reception. W3W ///couch.spin.chipsIf you are parking at Golden Acre car park, we recommend you allow yourself an extra 15 minutes before the event start time to get parked up and down to the reserve entrance.Further directions can be found on our websiteParkingMercure Leeds Parkway Hotel, Otley Road, LS16 8AG.The hotel has agreed to waive parking fees for this event. Attendees will need to validate their parking via the tablet at the desk in the reception. This must be done within 10 minutes of arrival. Staff will be on hand to assist.Alternatively parking is available at Golden Acre car park off Otley Road.
