Healthy gardens start with healthy soil! In this workshop, we’ll dig into the basics of soil ecology and the biodiversity of the food web that lives beneath our feet. Fall is an ideal time to tend to the soil, renewing and replenishing it before next year’s growing season. We’ll talk about the importance of organic matter, why it is essential for retaining nutrients and supporting a thriving garden ecosystem as well as the best choices for feeding your own garden soil.
Tickets are are $10 for members (with member discount code) and $15 for non-members with regular admission. This series is recommended for teens and adults.

Alison Magill is an herbalist, ecologist, gardener and educator who loves to help people take a new look at their gardens through an ecological lens. She holds degrees in Soil Science and Forest Ecology from UNH but has learned the most by observing the natural world. Now she is in her dream job here at Bedrock Gardens serving as the Garden Educator and getting to share her love of plants and nature with all of you!
