About the event

Kiln Firing
GCV&M is the only living history Museum in the Northeast that fires salt glazed stoneware in a woodfired kiln as it was done in the 19th century - and we're firing all day on Saturday, November 15! This process takes 12-16 hours with continuous fire stoking and consumes between four and five face cords of hardwood. Witness the process from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and visit with our historic potters, included with the cost of your general admission ticket. Museum Members are free!
