The 2025 Plymouth County 4-H/FFA Market Beef Weigh-In is coming up soon — Saturday, December 6 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Plymouth County Fairgrounds Scalehouse! ?

This is a must-attend event for all 4-H and FFA members planning to exhibit Market Beef (Heifers or Steers) during the 2025 fair season. Please note — only Market Beef will be weighed at this time.

? What to Expect:
• Tags will be available for purchase – $5 each
• State Fair animals require a retinal scan – $8 each
• The weigh-in process officially identifies your animals for county and state eligibility

? Why It Matters:
Weigh-in day is the first step in your Market Beef project journey! It ensures your animals are tagged, recorded, and ready for an exciting fair season ahead.

To keep things running smoothly, families should only enter the building once cattle are fully unloaded.
4-H members will take home a paper ID form and must enter that information in 4-H Online by February 1 for eligibility.

FFA members showing at the Iowa State Fair will need to work directly with their advisors — but remember, you must still attend weigh-in to exhibit at the Plymouth County Fair.

?️ Can’t make it to our weigh-in? No worries! You can attend another county’s weigh-in — just let our office know ahead of time which county you’ll be attending. Tags may need to be purchased from our office depending on inventory.
