Join us for our 1st installment of The Winter Documentary Series:

Black History Month
We are celebrating Black History Month on the very last day of February with a screening of You Got To Move, a film focusing on community activism in the Civil Rights Era and beyond. You Got To Move profiles the Highlander Folk School, an organization integral in training the Civil Rights leaders we honor today as well as bringing people of all backgrounds and races together to work towards a common goal. 

We look forward to sharing this inspiration for community involvement with you!

THE WINTER DOCUMENTARY FILM SERIES

Our mission through the Sandyston-Walpack Education Foundation (501c3) is to bring educational opportunities to the community by acting as a bridge from the school to the residents in an effort to strengthen the connection between these two, often separate, groups. 

SWEF is funding class trips and assemblies within the school, focusing on our local history, our town's natural resources and community togetherness. The film series will expand on those core ideas by shedding new light and perspective on often talked about themes in an effort to broaden horizons and re-energize community involvement.  

We will be covering 3 themes during the series:
- Black History (You Got To Move, February)
- March Madness (Teamwork/Sports film TBD, March) 
- Earth Day (Environmental film TBD, April) 

Our film series will take place at Sandyston Walpack School, in the evening. We welcome our Sandyston-Walpack educators, our vibrant Senior group and interested members of our local community to attend with a possible discussion at the conclusion of each film.
