Come explore the heat, history, and hands-on magic of the Peters Valley School of Craft Blacksmithing Studio during this special open studio day!
Studio Coordinator Sean Fitzsimmons will open the doors to the public for a full day of live demonstrations, informal talks, and behind-the-scenes looks at the blacksmithing process. Watch hot steel transformed on the anvil, see traditional tools in action, and learn how contemporary blacksmiths continue to build on this age-old craft.
Throughout the day, Sean will demonstrate forging techniques, share insights into studio practice, and talk about the many creative and functional possibilities of blacksmithing. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions, get curious, and engage in conversation—whether you’re brand new to the craft or already dreaming of taking a workshop.
Sean will also be available to answer questions about the blacksmithing studio, available equipment, and the range of workshops offered at Peters Valley. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the craft, meet the people behind the studio, and experience the energy of the forge up close.
