- **Event Description**: Please share this event and invite others! Join KU faculty, staff and students for the annual summer tour of the KU Native Medicinal Plant Research Garden. Kelly Kindscher, senior scientist at the Kansas Biological Survey & Center for Ecological Research and a professor in the KU Environmental Studies Program, will give an overview of the gardens and highlight important species. The tour lasts about an hour, but visitors are welcome to stay, explore and watch the sunset about 9 p.m.
 
Wear comfortable shoes, and bring a water bottle, plus a lawn chair if you wish.
 
The garden is open every day, dawn to dusk. It is a short drive from downtown Lawrence at 1865 E 1600 Road in Douglas County, next to Prairie Moon Waldorf School (old Grant Township School), just north of Highway 24/40. 

No RSVP is required. This event is weather-dependent and may be cancelled if weather is inclement. Check for updates here.
 
The garden is part of the KU Field Station, which is managed by the Kansas Biological Survey & Center for Ecological Research.
