"description": "Located at 9th and Mississippi, this community garden is the oldest in Lawrence. In 2014, we began a partnership with the KU Student Farm, which is a collaborative effort to reach KU students that are in need of gardening space in town. There are a few individual plots, but most of the space has been converted into large, communally gardened beds. The dedicated gardeners work hard to create an aesthetically pleasing and productive garden. We collaboratively plant, maintain, harvest, and sometimes eat as a community. All extra produce goes to friends, neighbors, participants, passer-bys, and sometimes food banks. "
