- **Event Description**: Join us on Wednesday April 29th at the Vermont st Garage (next to the Public Library, first floor, by the map wall) as we meet the Muralist and owner of Coup Count Designz, who was selected by the city to paint the wall in the garage.
This event gives everyone an opportunity to learn about Native American culture and the recognition of cultures that make up this city, but also gives other artists/ people a chance to learn what it takes to paint a mural and what it’s like to help paint this mural for their own community. YES, people will be offered a chance to paint a guided portion within the mural space. But if painting is not you “jam,” then your presence and listening ears are just as welcomed!
Learn about my culture, learn about the significance behind the images painted within this mural, so that you may plant these seeds of knowledge with everyone you come in contact with!

Our intention on including the help of the community members of Lawrence is to bring awareness of how important it is to come together and create something great for the community, by the community in hopes that we create stronger bonds, network greater connections, and learn from one another to break harmful stereotypes. Hopefully in doing this, we help visitors and new comers feel welcomed in the city that welcomed us in our first time here.

There will be light snacks and beverages, but you are welcome to bring your own as well as your own chair to sit in.
This event is for the entire family/ Indigenous or non-indigenous, we just ask that you be mindful of the people who are also there to learn and enjoy themselves by not being disruptive, and to keep a close eye on the kiddos because we will be meeting in a garage that might still be active  during this time frame.

Most of all, be ready to PAINT!!! (Don’t wear your fancy clothes if you want to help!)
