# Event Details - **Event Name**: Year 12 (AS) Chemistry Revision Workshop - Launceston26 - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 09 May, 2026 at 09:00 am – Sat, 09 May, 2026 at 03:00 pm (+01:00) - **Event Description**: A full day A-level Chemistry Revision Workshop covering the year 12 (AS) content of the current UK specifications.About this EventThe presenter has run annual A-level Chemistry Revision Workshops during the school Easter holidays since 2009, and at Bideford College since 2017.They have been repeated each academic year since and continue to be very popular.There are separate revision workshops for both AS (year 12) and A2 (year 13) Chemistry and are tailored to the content of the most common A-level Chemistry specifications studied in English schools, namely AQA, Edexcel and OCR (A) & also WJEC.This workshop will run between 09.00 and 15.00. It includes two interactive revision sessions, with a one hour lunch break (11.30 - 12.30) in between - attendees are strongly encouraged to bring lunch with you as there are no food outlets within a short walking or driving distance of the venue (in a small village near Launceston) - drinking water/squash and tea/coffee/biscuits will be available in the venues throughout the day. There is a small car park at the village hall and plenty of nearby on street parking if it is full.Each revision session consists of a short summary of the key points and typical student misconceptions from each selected topic area. This is followed by a variety of on-screen questions which the students answer using electronic voting handsets, provided at the venue by the presenter.Each student is also provided with an Abstracts booklet at the workshop and will be e-mailed a Revision Notes booklet containing comprehensive set of revision notes covering most topics for each year.Workshop attendees are expected to bring a pen, writing paper and a scientific calculator to each workshop.The presenter, Dr Peter Hoare, is currently a STEM Outreach Officer at a Russell Group University.
