The rapid advancements of technology and social media are increasing the risks. Elder fraud is critically important to address because it can have devastating consequences for older adults, and their caregivers. It impacts their financial security, mental health, and overall well-being, often leaving them vulnerable and unable to meet their basic needs, while also causing significant emotional distress and a potential loss of independence; therefore, actively preventing and combating elder fraud is essential to protect the most vulnerable members of society.
