That’s why we’ve created this four-part workshop series, designed especially for adult beginners, to give you the skills to start making your own handmade, slow-fashion garments.Guided by the passionate Kirsty Máté, you’ll learn everything from choosing fabrics and reading patterns to constructing and finishing a garment you’ll be proud to wear by the end of the course.What you’ll learn over an entire weekend:Day 1 (morning): Patterns & Fabric – How to read dressmaking patterns, choose fabrics, lay out, pin, mark, and cut.Day 1 (afternoon): Construction Fundamentals – Seams, stay stitching, facings, and/or under-stitching.Day 2 (morning): Garment Construction – Inserting sleeves and/or adding pockets.Day 2 (afternoon): Finishing Touches – Hemming and/or creating casings.Bring your curiosity and creativity!***Who is this workshop for?This workshop is suitable for all beginners, 18 years and over, who know how to use a sewing machine. (If you are younger than 18 our Slow Fashion Series for young beginners is offered regularly)We recommend completing our free workshop if you haven't used a machine before, and practice using the machine before attending this course.***What am I going to make?We have selected patterns suitable for beginners for you to start learning the skills of sewing your own garments.You can choose between making a stylish pair of elastic-waisted pants or skirt, a sweet summery dress, or blouse (scroll down to see pictures).***How do I book?Choose the first date of the Series and book selecting the Series Workshop ticket.Please note: We will also be asking you for the pattern you wish to make and your body measurements when booking so we can let you know how much fabric to purchase.Installment paymentsWe also offer you the flexibility of a payment instalment package so you don't have to pay the full amount up front.
