Inspired by traditional Japanese sashiko stitching, this workshop explores how simple hand-stitching techniques can transform damaged or tired denim into something uniquely beautiful and deeply personal.If you have a favourite pair of jeans, denim jacket, skirt or overalls with thinning fabric, a small hole or signs of wear, we’d love to help you extend its life through thoughtful repair and decorative stitching. Rather than hiding the mend, you’ll learn how to celebrate it.Join textile artist and educator Alicen Kaye for this beginner-friendly 3-hour workshop exploring visible mending techniques for denim. You’ll learn foundational sashiko-inspired stitches, patching methods and decorative reinforcement techniques using hand embroidery and layering.
