We warmly welcome all OCS members to our new event series for the Springtime, inviting you to beat the January blues...
This event series is an initiative by Lore & Piece, in collaboration with the Federation of Old Cornwall Societies!
A varied programme exploring the churches of Cornwall, as well as giving opportunity for socialising.
Each series will focus on a different group of churches - united by a particular aspect(s).
For 2026, the primary focus will be Medieval wall paintings: the paintings, the people, the politics...

The fourth event for the 2026 series will be held on Thursday 19th March.
Meet us at St Thomas church, Launceston, at 11am, for a guided tour, including a short talk on its wall paintings, we will be leaving around 12midday.
Next, we will head to Launceston Priory for 12:15pm for a tour, and we will be here until 1:30pm - this includes the LUNCH break.
Our final stop will be Linkinhorne church, from 2pm - c.3pm.

NOTES:
Refreshments may be provided at each church's discretion; donations welcome.
Each event is limited to max.capacity of 30 people.
The content of each event may differ slightly, and may include other cultural elements, such as local carols, Cornish folk music, and tours/talks of relevant nearby historic places.
Attendees will need to make their own way/lift-share to each location in the event.
Attendees do not have to attend all locations at each event (i.e. you are welcome to visit only one church if wanted).
Your lunch break is yours to spend however you want, but a packed lunch is advised, esp. for more rural locations.
As we are visiting holy places, and the weather may be wet, please wear appropriate clothing & footwear.
Please bring anything else you may need with you, and an umbrella is recommended.
