Welcome to QVMAG's FREE Art + Performance series - where musicians, dancers, and actors respond to and give new life into our exhibitions through performance.
Join the talented musicians of the Launceston Improvised Music Association in a participatory performance in Sam Jinks || Mortal Reflections at the Art Gallery at Royal Park.
Providing a range of instruments, visitors are invited to contribute to a continuous weaving of voices and instruments - responding to QVMAG's new acquisition, Eternal Return.
Through interacting through sound with the artwork - a large-scale orb-weaving spider, inspired by the QVMAG's Natural Science collection - explore how sound can animate and transform an encounter with this extraordinary creature.

Step into the imagined world of Sam Jinks, one of Australia's most prominent contemporary sculpural artists.
Renowned for his painstakingly crafted figures, Jinks’ practice reflects upon deeply felt moments of our lived experience.
Imbued with unguarded emotion and raw vulnerability, this unique presentation is one artist’s invitation to reflect on the mysteries of: life || death, and all in-between.
