- **Event Description**: To conclude our awesome open mic season at Lakeside - and it's been an absolute pleasure to present it :) - our finale in August is going to be a little extra er - thing. 

THREE SHOWCASE SLOTS will be up for grabs. These slots enable performers to play 6 songs, instead of the usual 2 or 3, all in one go. The slots will be at 8.30pm, 9pm and 9.30pm. 

All performers, but particularly anyone interested in doing a showcase, will need to arrive a smidge before 7pm and make themselves known to Benita. If they want to be in with a chance for a showcase they will need to enter their name into the draw (just one act submission per person).

Your host will open the night and then - at 7.15pm - names will be swirled about and drawn from a hat completely at random by completely random folk. 

Showcasers can then relax for a bit until their set time arrives.  They may also enjoy the added benefit of ONE FREE DRINK each  to steady their nerves. Amazing.  

As soon as the draw has been made, the usual open mic-ery commences up until the first showcase at 8.30pm. 

Simples! 

So - prepare yourselves, your instruments, your songs and arm yourselves with an arsenal of claps, whoops, cheers and general conviviality and supportiveness! (As you always do, which is what makes you all so awesome). 

All styles appreciated. Originals or covers. Do your thing :) PA, mics and 2-channel guitar amp available. 
Semi-acceptable compere and sound-tech also present.
 
If the good weather continues, we will be outside. 
There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. And don't forget, the venue do food until 8pm and there's a special MEAL DEAL menu (see flyer). Maybe get there early, anticipating the rush, and claim your table...
