If you are new to volunteering, have no fear, we will provide you with tools and on-site training. Safety is our number one concern, followed closely by providing an enjoyable Buckeye Trail Crew experience.What: Join us for a weekend of trail work in beautiful Pike County as we reopen a segment of trail that has been unavailable to hikers for the past three years. We will be performing heavy trail maintenance and reclamation, including vegetation management as well as bucking and limbing downed trees. Chainsawyers, swampers, and trimmers are essential for this work. We will be staying at Cave Lake Campground.What To Bring: Lunch, water, snacks, work clothing, insect repellant, sunscreen, boots. Tools will be provided.Meals: On Saturday and Sunday, breakfast and supper will be provided by Southern Ohio Trail Magic. You are responsible for all other meals, including lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Long's Retreat and Resort is just down the road and has pizza and sandwiches.Where and When: Each day, meet at Cave Lake Campground (1428 Bell Hollow Road; Hillsboro, OH 45133) at 8:45am. The Safety Meeting starts at 9am and we will head out on the trail at 9:15am.Camping: Camping is available starting Friday, April 10th at Cave Lake Campground.
