The Streisand Effect @ The Smith Center

A reflection on Ms Streisand's place in the annals of popular music that that both expands and reflects upon her humor, her humanity and her leadership. But it’s not all reverence! There’s also juicy and fun quotes from Babs's monumental autobiography, while David Shire, 55 years after he wrote Barbra the righteous song “What About Today?” contributes a brand new jazz-inflected song for this concert about independent women called “Daughter of Fire.” What begins as a glamorous and brilliantly-sung homage to Streisand becomes a moving tale of Errico finding her own voice -- and making it sound better, and her audience feel better, than ever.
