He has resided here since 1974 an began his professional career as a front man for his popular group "Rock n Roll Heaven" in 1980.It should be noted that this summer not only marks Garrett's 10th year of performing his Hot August Night shows, which began in 2010 as an annual event at the North Cannery Casino, it also markes Garrett's 25th anniversary of performing his award winning tribute to the iconic Neil Diamond which began officially in June of 1995 when he was hired by the late great Paul Revere (of the Raiders) to perform as part of the Legends in Concert show in Honolulu Hawaii which still holds a special place in the heart of this New York city born and raised veteran entertainer.What was originally supposed to be a 3 month 'trial' in turned into a 3-year residency in Waikiki for Garrett and kicked off a 25 year career that would eventually earn him the title, known worldwide as the "King of Diamonds".
