Having practised dentistry in Islandmagee and Whitehead for many years, Margaret has devoted decades to developing her artistic practice alongside her professional life. A long-standing member and former Honorary Secretary of the Ulster Society of Women Artists, she is also a member of the Pastel Society of Ireland, Medical Art Society, and the Society of Equestrian Artists. Working across a wide range of media including acrylic, pastel, watercolour, charcoal and mixed media, Margaret is known for her versatility and expressive approach. Her favourite subjects include equestrian studies, portraiture, still life and figure painting, each reflecting her keen observation and appreciation of form, character and movement. Margaret regularly spends time in the South of France, where the landscape, history, people and way of life provide a rich source of inspiration for her work. Her paintings reveal a curiosity about the world around her and a willingness to continually explore new techniques and subjects. She has exhibited extensively both locally and internationally, earning recognition for her accomplished and engaging artistic style. This exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to experience a selection of Margaret’s work, showcasing the breadth of her interests and the creative journey of an artist whose enthusiasm for art has remained constant throughout her life. The exhibition is on display from Friday 7th August until Friday 4th September 2026 and includes Saturday opening on 15th August.
