Οι Stournari Street Band παρουσιάζουν ένα ιδιαίτερο live project στηριγμένο σε αγαπημένα τραγούδια (Νικόλας Άσιμος, Παύλος Σιδηρόπουλος, Τρύπες, Μουσικές Ταξιαρχίες κλπ), σε απροσδόκητες διασκευές και σε δικές τους συνθέσεις. Άλλωστε και οι ίδιοι έχουν μακρά πορεία στην ελληνόφωνη σκηνή: ο Γιώργος Λαγγουρέτος (γνωστός από τη συμμετοχή του στους Magic de Spell, Υπόθεση Χ και πρόσφατα στη "Γιορτή για τον Παύλο Σιδηρόπουλο"), ο ιδιαίτερος κρουστός Αντώνης Νομικός (The Absorbus Machine κλπ), συμπράττουν με το Νίκο Μπάρδη (κιθάρα και τρομπέτα στα Διάφανα Κρίνα). Με ελεύθερη προσέγγιση δημιουργούν μια «δεύτερη ανάγνωση» των τραγουδιών με αυτοσχεδιαστικό προσανατολισμό, κατασκευάζοντας ηχοτοπία, και "κλείνουν το μάτι" στις εξωστρεφείς και ψυχαγωγικές στιγμές του προγράμματος.
Η φετινή Bienale είναι αφιερωμένη στη θεματική "along lines and traces". Η οδός Στουρνάρη, κεντρικός δρόμος των Εξαρχείων στο κέντρο της Αθήνας, αποτελεί μια ευθεία γραμμή. Ξεκινάει από την πλατεία Εξαρχείων, περνάει απ’ το Πολυτεχνείο, τα θέατρα στο ύψος της Πατησίων, το Υπουργείο Υγείας και καταλήγει στη λεωφόρο Αχαρνών, δίπλα στους απόκληρους της πλατείας Βάθης. Εκεί περπατούν ανήσυχοι άνθρωποι, πολίτες, καλλιτέχνες, επιστήμονες, πρόσφυγες, μετανάστες, φοιτητές. Εκεί έχουν εκτυλιχθεί κοινωνικοί αγώνες, πορείες, συγκρούσεις για έναν καλύτερο και δικαιότερο κόσμο. Εκεί επιχειρείται βίαια η μετατροπή της περιοχής σε τουριστική ατραξιόν, σε βάρος του χαρακτήρα και της ιστορίας της (gentrification). Καθώς τα περισσότερα πράγματα στο χώρο της κοινωνικής σκέψης και της αισθητικής κλυδωνίζονται, ας γυρίσουμε, με το δικό μας τρόπο, στα βασικά.

Stournari Street Band presents a special live project based on favorite songs (Nikolas Asimos, Pavlos Sidiropoulos, Trypes, Mοusikes Taxiarhies etc.), on unexpected arrangements and on their own compositions. After all, they themselves have a long career in the Greek-speaking scene: Giorgos Langouretos (known from his participation in Magic de Spell, Hypothesis X and recently in "Celebration for Pavlos Sidiropoulos"), the special percussionist Antonis Nomikos (The Absorbus Machine etc.), collaborate with Nikos Bardis (guitar and trumpet in Diaphana Krina). With a free approach, they create a "second reading" of the songs with an improvisational orientation, constructing soundscapes, and "turn a blind eye" to the extroverted and entertaining moments of the program.
This year's Biennale is dedicated to the theme "along lines and traces". Stournari Street, the main street of Exarcheia in the center of Athens, is a straight line. It starts from Exarcheia Square, passes by the Polytechnic University, the theaters at the height of Patision, the Ministry of Health and ends at Acharnon Avenue, next to the outcasts of Vathis Square. Restless people, citizens, artists, scientists, refugees, immigrants, students walk there. There have been social struggles, marches, conflicts for a better and fairer world. There is a violent attempt to transform the area into a tourist attraction, at the expense of its character and history (gentrification). As most things in the field of social thought and aesthetics are shaken, let us return, in our own way, to the basics.
