Dyslexia CALT Training Information Sessions
For the first time ever, Laredo will offering a training for Certified Academic Language Therapist! There will be 2 information sessions to introduce our community to the program and offer details about what is required of schools and teachers enrolled in the program. Rawson Saunders Training Institute will be offering the CALT training here in Laredo. RSI is a non-profit that works to train teachers in working with students with dyslexia that need specialized instruction. Two information sessions will be offered at TAMIU Student Center Room Rm 230. Rawson Saunders will be giving an overview of the Certified Academic Language Therapy course and answering any questions in regards to the certification. The program begins June 1st and applications will be given out at the meeting. This program is limited to 15 and grants will be awarded. The first session is at 9:30am. It is geared to all administrators, principals, school board members and city officials. The second session will be at 1pm and is open to parents and interested teachers. If a school administrator or superintendent can not attend at 9:30am, they are welcome to attend the 1pm session.
