- **Event Description**: Spend part of the day off from work and school getting crafty with nature at Sheldrake. We’ll create a scented candle in a jar that we’ll decorate with dried flowers, newspaper clippings, magazine images, or stickers. Then we’ll pour melted wax and add fragrance oil. Join us for hands-on crafting, connection, scents, and nature.

This activity will be conducted indoors. Participants are also welcome to explore our 60-acre nature preserve before or after the workshop, connecting further with nature at a self-guided pace.

About the facilitator:

Ella Crandall is an artist and horticulturist with a background in psychology and training in horticultural therapy at NYU Langone. She creates hands-on, community-centered experiences that blend art, science, and plants to support healing, connection, and resilience, empowering people to care for plants—and themselves—with confidence.
