To kick off the celebrations, Diabetes Ireland is hosting a “Living Life Well With Diabetes” meeting on Sunday, November 9th, at the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise.

Whether you have type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, or are a parent or carer of a child with diabetes, we invite you to join us. Connect with others and receive practical advice on managing diabetes.

Join us at the Midlands Park Hotel for this year’s inspiring event: “Living Life Well With Diabetes” information Meeting.

Designed for people living with diabetes, our programme is packed with practical tips, the latest updates, and guidance for everyday wellbeing. The theme of this year’s meeting is “Living Life Well With Diabetes”.

As part of this exciting meeting, we will offer several educational sessions throughout the day for individuals living with Type 1 diabetes, individuals living with Type 2 diabetes, and parents of children with diabetes.

In collaboration with the Adult Diabetes Team at Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise and the Paediatric Diabetes Team at Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar, we have developed an agenda focused on the following topics:

 – Understanding diabetes technology and how to interpret Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) and insulin pump data

– Exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle advice

– Supporting your child’s mental health and well-being

– Managing diabetes during hospital admissions


For those attending the Type 2 diabetes session, we will also highlight new HSE community diabetes services and discuss how they can assist you.
