We can use your help protecting this beautiful Florida native species.About this EventREGISTRATION OPENS 6/24 @ 10AMOur state-threatened prickly pear cactus (Opuntia stricta), a beautiful Florida native species, is being overtaken by the invasive Zoysia grass. Volunteers are needed to help remove the grass by hand — the only effective way to protect these rare cacti and restore their habitat. Gloves, tools, water, and snacks will be provided.**Please bring water, appropriate clothing (hat, hiking shoes/boots, long-sleeved shirts and pants for bugs) and bug spray.We will meet in the parking lot.
