Anthony Stanco, a trumpet virtuoso from Southeast Michigan, draws from Detroit’s rich musical legacy. Mentored by Marcus Belgrave and Rodney Whitaker, he refined his artistry at the Manhattan School of Music before returning to Michigan State University, where he won first place in the 2013 International Trumpet Guild's Jazz Improvisation Competition.
As leader of The Crucial Elements, Stanco served as a cultural ambassador for the U.S. State Department, captivating audiences worldwide with performances across South Africa, Indonesia, and beyond.
Stanco’s acclaimed albums, including The Crucial Elements and You Know The Feeling, demonstrate his musical brilliance. His forthcoming release, Stanco’s Time (Origin Records), is highly anticipated. As a Bach Trumpet endorsing artist, his signature sound continues to inspire.
Beyond performing, Stanco is passionate about education. As an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University, he mentors aspiring musicians while sharing his deep love for jazz. Recognized with a Jazz Road Tours grant, Stanco’s contributions have left a lasting impact on the jazz community.
