She often creates intimate, story-driven pieces that reflect her lived experiences as a Black Woman; her practice is rooted in personal narrative. Kyra is a firm believer of the need and right of expression, so as a passionate artist, she strives to build community through art, as well as create a space for underrepresented voices. Much of her work is centered around empowerment and the language of adornment; treating the creative process as both an archive and an offering.“I’m constantly inspired and grounded by the voices, hands, and stories that show up in shared spaces like this.”This workshop is offered as part of ongoing creative programming for the Lansdowne community in an LEDC-associated space, supporting artists who want to try something new in a relaxed, collaborative environment.Ages:Recommended for ages 10+, with anyone age 10 - 16 required to have an accompanying adult present.
