LANGLEY, BC — This Father’s Day, visitors to Backyard Vineyards will have the opportunity to experience a 
unique blend of art, wildlife education, and inspiring storytelling through the work of local artist Silvia Klahm.  

A certified Marine Mammal Naturalist and lymphoma survivor, Silvia will be exhibiting her original collection of orca paintings while sharing educational insights about the remarkable killer whales that call British Columbia’s coastal waters home. 

Throughout the event, visitors can learn about the different ecotypes of killer whales found in BC. Silvia helps bring the stories of these iconic marine mammals to life.  

Growing up in the wilderness of northern British Columbia surrounded by wildlife and later developing a passion for marine conservation, Silvia has dedicated much of her artwork to celebrating the beauty, intelligence, and resilience of killer whales. Her original paintings, inspired by wildlife, nature, and the coastal 
beauty of British Columbia, are held in private collections around the world. 

Silvia’s journey through cancer treatment also transformed her perspective as an artist. Many of her works reflect themes of hope, freedom, perseverance, and the healing power of nature. 

“This event is about more than displaying paintings,” says Silvia. “It’s an opportunity to connect people with the incredible killer whales that live off our coast and inspire a deeper appreciation for protecting the natural world.” 

Guests attending the Father’s Day event will have the opportunity to:
