- **Event Name**: Walk For The Homies (Last Stretch)

- **Event Description**: This will be about a 5 mile walk, it starts at Tigertail Camp and will end when reach the end of the levy…please bring sunscreen and protective clothes…and plenty of water and snacks…everything you might need. We will meet at the pump station west of the Miccosukee Resort, where you will pull off of Tamiami Trail into the pump station (north from Tamiami Trail) and will see where to park. We will hop in the back of a few trucks, and drive to the Tigertail camp from the levy, and begin our walk and walk back until we have made it back towards our vehicles. Ask for a pin drop if you need help finding it…I’m not sure how to include on a facebook event. This is NOT a virtual event, it only says that because an “in person” event has to be at a physical address, and facebook only caters to towns and buildings with physical addresses. 

Absolutely no fasting, the only people fasting are the ones who have to fast, I need the rest of you strong…fasting isn’t about being tough, it’s a spiritual thing…and it’s not for everyone to understand. If you feel called to fast, you need to do it on your own time after the prayer walk please. It’s important to follow instructions.

There are many ways to support other than walking, for example we need support vehicles to carry cold drinks and such…or maybe you could volunteer to bring some food and help feed hungry warriors when we are finally done…simply praying from home is a huge way to support as well. 

Please do not push yourself…this isn’t a “ME” thing…it’s a “WE” thing. If any leaders tell you to sit out and hop in a car…you need to respect those instructions and follow them…I reserve the right to ask people to hop in a support car…this is dangerous, and I’m not going to risk anyone’s health…it’s my responsibility to make sure everyone is alive when we are finished. Like auntie always says, “don’t be a martyr…we don’t need no martyrs”. 

It matters not if you finish the walk on your feet…or if you finished in a car…WE still finished, together…it’s a WE thing, and that’s what’s important. 

One of the reasons we are walking is to raise awareness about Florida Bill 1191, where Mosaic Phosphate Mining wants Florida to use their cancer causing waste from mining as substrate for new road construction…they don’t care if it’s radioactive, so long as they can move their toxic mountains to make room for more mining and destroying of our delicate ecosystems in Florida. 

We are praying to heal our Mother…and to help the Homies. You should see where we did our last prayer walk…I couldn’t believe my eyes, all da homies have returned. I saw more birds yesterday than I’ve seen combined in the last several years…the land and the water, it felt better after we shared our breath with her. 

Things you will need:
1) good shoes 
2) hat
3) protective clothes for sun 
4) sunblock and bug spray
5) WATER and snacks you may need. 
6) common sense: bring anything you will need, don’t assume someone is gonna read your mind and bring it for you ?

This is an indigenous led ceremony that we are inviting you to…so please be respectful and follow the rules and instructions, it’s not open for discussion on how things are run, so please keep your opinions and advice to yourselves. There is no need for doubt…so leave all doubt at home if you choose to come. We need warriors…not doubt! 

These walks are no hurry, so don’t make plans after the walk, if you have a BBQ or birthday party to get to later that day…then go straight to it, and skip the walk…because these things take patience, and nobody should be in a hurry to leave. Thank you for understanding ✊??⚡️
