- **Event Description**: Join the City of Lancaster on this educational tour to find out what happens once our water goes down the drain.About this EventCity Stormwater staff will take you on a guided tour of the newly installed wetland system. Learn how water is pumped from Long’s Pond and through a series of vegetated ‘filters’ to return clean water to the pond. Learn about the native plant species growing throughout the wetlands and how they support green herons, redwing blackbirds, painted and snapping turtles, butterflies, pollinators and more in a thriving ecosystem. Also learn about the trees of Long’s Park, including a riparian buffer. Wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat, and bring a water bottle.
