- **Event Description**: Various vintage linen and textile items such as doilies and lace, along with antique quilts from the Mitchell-Rountree Stone Cottage will be displayed through out the museum through March 21st.
Eileen Daniels, a Quilt Expo, presenter will be speaking at 10:30am on Vintage Textiles with a Creative Twist. This trunk show she will share creatively quilted art wall hangings, garments and more using tablecloths, hankies, lace, doilies, embroidered pillowcases and table linens.
Then at 1:30pm Eileen’s presentation is titled “Orphan Blocks with Sentimental Endings.” Collages fabric art, designer pillows, enhanced table cloths, fabulous art quilts, wearable garments, and accessories all using orphan (quilt) blocks will be shown in this humor-filled trunk show.
Joey Mahieu will also be on hand to do informal quilt assessments for anyone bringing a quilt to learn more about its pattern and fabric. Registration is needed if a formal quilt appraisal is wanted, for a fee.
Hand quilters will be giving a demonstration. Great raffle items will be available.
ALL profits go towards making the lower level of the Grant County History Museum handicap accessible, and a space for more hands on exhibits for visitors.
Admission is $20 purchased at the door or on line.
