A special presentation is coming to Lancaster Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 26th and Saturday, September 27th, when art history instructor, Alan Nowicki will once again go “Searching for God Through Art.” Part art history lesson and part theological discussion, Mr. Nowicki will weave a series of NEW stories about the creation of various artworks and how it offers a glimpse towards God.
The program will feature famous artists, introduce pieces that are lesser known, and look at a variety of media. Historical information will be given on the artists and the pieces, including the likes of Pieter Bruegel and James Tissot, to name a few.
Alan Nowicki has been an art teacher for more than 25 years, having taught in every grade level from Pre-K through college. He currently is the Program Director at the National Historic Roycroft Campus and teaches art history at Erie Community College.
There will be two opportunities to see the presentation; Friday, September 26th at 7pm or Saturday, September 27th at 4pm. Doors open a half hour before start time with coffee and refreshments served. The program will be approximately an hour and a half, is free and open to the public. Come be inspired by the art and how it points toward something greater.
