Christ Church Lancaster
We launched our first Christmas Tree Festival in 2021 to reconnect with the community after Covid, especially those unfamiliar with church but affected by the pandemic. With our Night Shelter closed due to Covid regulations and lacking proper accommodation space, the festival became a way to show our ongoing care and support.
We are delighted to share details of this much-loved community event, which brings together individuals, families, schools, and local organisations to celebrate the joy and hope of the Christmas season. The festival promises a sparkling display of beautifully decorated trees, each one uniquely designed by different groups and sponsored by businesses from around Lancaster and further afield, creating a magical atmosphere in the church.

This event celebrates the strengths of our local community and extends a warm welcome to visitors from across Lancashire, providing a distinctive launch to the festive season. This year’s festival also features a comprehensive lineup of live music by local performers.
Half of the proceeds raised during the festival will benefit our selected charity, Lancaster and District Homeless Action Service (LDHAS). At this challenging time of year, LDHAS offers essential food, warmth, and support to those in greatest need, and demand for their services continues to grow. The remaining funds will contribute to the ongoing operations and maintenance of our active parish church.
We have local businesses and contacts sponsoring trees and local schools and community groups decorating them.
