With colorful umbrellas and calm presence, our volunteers create a peaceful visual barrier so that families can pass safely, shielded from hateful rhetoric and extremist groups including Proud Boys, Patriot Front, Blood Tribe, GAG, and Westboro Baptist Church. For the littlest ones, we offer noise-canceling ear protection because childhood should be filled with joy, not slurs shouted through bullhorns. Our mission is simple: every child deserves to walk through their community with dignity, love, and safety.

On Saturday, March 21, 2025, Parasol Patrol will help ensure children and families can enjoy the all-ages drag event free from disruption. Meet at 5:45 pm at 40 West Art Gallery, 6501 W Colfax, Lakewood, CO 80214. We hope the day is filled only with celebration, laughter, and welcome and that no protesters arrive. If they do, our umbrellas will be there to create safety and peace.

A gentle reminder to our volunteers: Parasol Patrol is not a counter-protest organization. We do not engage with those who show up to spread hate. We are present for the children. Our focus remains on joy, protection, and community care, not conflict.

Volunteer guidelines will be shared in the comments. Thank you for standing with us. Our work is not about shaping identities, it is about ensuring that every child, especially BIPOC and Queer youth, knows they are valued, protected, and loved by their community. Not in spite of who they are, but because of who they are.
