- **Event Description**: MKW Elite, Central VA’s only exclusively girls basketball organization, is holding tryouts for our 4th and under, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and our 11th/12th grade teams. The tryouts will take place on Sunday, February 22nd at UTurn (2101 Maywill St. Richmond, VA).

7th and under from 1-2:30 PM
8th and up – 3-5 PM
 
MKW Elite has teams that play a National Exposure schedule starting with our 6th grade Elite teams and running through all our high school aged teams.  
 
MKW also has teams that stay locally, at each grade level for those that do not want to travel.
 
MKW is a development organization meaning we don’t just spend practice time running plays, we raise the skill level and basketball IQ of our players through drills that transfer to games. We have a 98% success rate of our players making their middle school team in the 6th grade largely in part to the fact that our players are trained in how to play, not just how to run a play.  Many of our players have gone onto play in college with many more coming from our upcoming graduating classes.
 
We offer a highly skilled staff guided by consistent and knowledgeable leadership. Character forms the foundation of our teams, as we recognize that their achievements should extend beyond performance on the court.
 
We all practice out of one location with each team practicing on a full court. This organization truly operates like a family, not just in name—its sense of unity extends beyond individual teams to the entire organization. Our elite teams travel together, and all our teams participate in tournaments together.
