On Saturday 9 May at 1.00pm, we are asking members of the Lakes Entrance community to take a seat in The Longest Waiting Room.

For this event, 90 chairs will be placed across the Lakes Entrance Footbridge. Each chair represents the difference that one additional senior GP could make at Cunninghame Arm Medical Centre, around 90 extra appointments every week for our community.

This is not because Lakes Entrance is out of doctors. It is because our CAMC urgently needs to strengthen its senior GP and supervision capacity so it can continue caring for the community while also training the next generation of rural doctors.

The aim of The Longest Waiting Room is to create a powerful, visual message that attracts media attention and helps our campaign reach a doctor in Melbourne, Sydney or beyond who may be ready for a meaningful career move and a genuine sea change.

We are inviting local residents, business owners, families, community leaders, patients and supporters to apply for a seat and be part of this important community moment.

By taking a seat, you will be helping us show that Lakes Entrance is not just looking for a doctor, we are ready to welcome one.
